Microelectronics, Semiconductors and Quantum Technology
In this session, the discussion will focus on how to balance open knowledge exchange and innovation with the protection of intellectual property and commercial interests within collaborative frameworks that bring together industry, startups, and academia. The panel will shed light on the distinct infrastructure needs of both established microelectronics industries and emerging quantum technologies, addressing the specific challenges and opportunities involved in developing open-access research and technology infrastructures.
There will also be an emphasis on how European countries can align their national strategic research priorities in microelectronics and quantum technology to foster mutual benefits through coordinated task distribution, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
Ultimately, the session aims to provide insights on how Europe can boost its competitiveness in these fields by adopting a coherent and comprehensive strategy for research infrastructure development.
